Shifrin's textbooks are full of examples but not overly hand-holdy. It is quite helpful to have this as a reference in tandem with Axler's terser style of writing. I really enjoy LA:AGA and hopefully you will see me work through his Abstract Algebra: A Geometric Approach soon.
